anyone had any experience of this, can you really add fish the next day into an unmatured tank an filter ??? seems too good to be true, eliminating the 6-8 weeks for a filter to mature.

    I'd trust it ( with 50% water changes a day x 2) ;)

Hi Jim , I have used biozym on the last 3 tanks/ systems I ve cycled , i certainly think it helped the cycling process speed up but I would not place that much faith in it to put fih in the next day.

I would be very interested to see how you get on with it mate, I presume you will be testing it on your "tropicals" and not the discus.

Assume you mean fish less cycling ammonia dose?

I still prefer peeps to go through the cycling period as it is a valuable learning curve - but modern day way of life is more "want it, and want it now" so if these type of products help then that is ok-ish!

Yes I mean fish less cycling ammonia .

I was told by Dan Dordai that the product is designed to be used direct with fish and not with fishless cycling . I tried both ways ( I had lots of water stored ready to go in case it did not work) With the fish Biozym did exactly what it said it would , With a fishless cycle I would say it help but not much.

I have used it several times now and its worked for me.

I have used this product much in the same way as Brent has mentioned previously, i was advised to use the Biozym for Arowana something to do with the Bacteria count, I use Biozym after a clean down of the tanks and when introducing new stock into the system, i have also used this after my filters had crashed so capsules in and within 24 Hours New Stock added, caveat was largerthat normal water changes over the following few days.

sounds like a viable alternative to 6 weeks plus with ammonia maybe. anecdotal evidence is fine and I know mark planning on doing a trial with goldies but would be interested to see a recorded trial with something less bombproof than goldies as well

For us, since we have installed a B+B trop and coldwater section in our shop we get lots of folk new to fish keeping - now when you tell them that to cycle a filter can take a minimum of six weeks, so no fish till then they look at you as if you are some sort of dipstick - about turn and head for a pet chain store who say "3 days"..........so if this stuff does work then it will be very welcome indeed, however for me to recommend it, I need to use it myself and be happy....year ago there was a product called "bacotnats" (sp  ) and they used to work very well indeed.

I still maintain that it takes a very long time for a few tiny fish even in smallish amounts of water to build up an ammonia level that cause harm, so to declare safe after a couple of days is not what I would be looking for - no ammonia after 21 days, then bingo!

so am I right in thinking the best way to use this product is to add the ammonia as usual, and also add the biozym ? and hopefully it will mature in record time ready for the fish.

It's worked for me several times, with fish in the tank. Recently, I put 10 corys in a 90-litre tank for QT, new HMA water. In 2 days the ammonia was 2.0. I added 2 capsules of Biozym, the following day ammonia was 1.0. Added a further capsule of Biozym and the next day the ammonia was 0. A week later it is still 0. There's a sponge filter in the tank. I'm feeding the fish lightly, once a day.
