Ember tetras with discus?

    Aare they expensive or can they actually coexist in the same tank?

    The aquarium is supposed to be 1200 litres, but that might change after the report on the load my floors can bear, but going on that number I'm currently planning
    10 discus
    30 rummynose tetra
    30 sterbai cory
    10 splashing tetra
    5 starlight plecos (L183)

    ... and I'm considering 30 ember tetras.

    Discus would be added last.

    My concern is they are very small. Might be eaten by bigger fish.

    The only bigger fish will be discus, and added to the tank last, well after the tetras, so while the discus will still have some growing to do the embers should already be adults.

    Do you think the discus are a threat to the embers?

    Don't know but adult male ember tetras are only about 15mm long. They are very small and don't really grow bigger than that. I breed ember tetras for fun but don't keep them with discus. For me this fish needs dedicated species tank.
