    Probably some sort of sulphur-containing reducing agent to deal with chlorine, chloramines and ammonia. Probably proprietary so they won't reveal the precise active chemical. Fine for emergencies but HMA or RO better for routine use.

    No idea but it will be an "attractive" compound by guess since it does not remove harmful parts, just clumbs them. As said, hma will prove cheaper and better in long run.
