    Hi All,

I've not been on here for ages. Just popped back in for a look to see what's going on, not much by the looks of things.

Got 10 Wild F1 Jutai Green Discus from Christian Abt in Munich. Eight months old now and looking great. Hope to get a pair out of these.

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Hi John,

Of the original 10 that I bought I still have 6 left all of which are doing well, although two of them don't seem to be growing as big as the others, but the colours are great.

I'll try uploading a few photos to photobucket and see if I can post the here.

I also got 4 of Steve Punchards Trombeta Red / yellows which look great.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Hi this is Keith Haresnape and I have just returned to breeding discus again for my third time. Forced break from last time as had to go abroad for work.
I have two stock tanks up and running with six breeding pairs so far ,in all six tanks. Four still to set up. It is three months since I started with the first pair a young pair of red Maps. Already they spawn regularly every eight days.
I have recently been sold sum so called red Turks which turn out to be Royal Blues. I have two pairs of these both males are huge ,9 inch with the females 7 or 8 inch. Pairs are also spawning regularly but males are not interested yet. Time will tell as they are young and healthy.
At present I am looking for quality discus for my breeding program. Too many people are selling lots of discus but you don't know if they are crossed strains or imported.
Please feel free to sujest sources of quality discus.

    Hi Keith,

Welcome back mate, sounds like you are off to a flyer already.

Depending what type of discus your after, standard Stendker European Discus from Mark Evenden at Devotedly Discus, some interesting Asian Crosses from Steve Punchard, Heckels and Wilds from Mark Neill at IP Discus Scotland, and Francis Hu at Chen's Discus for Wilds and everything else.

The only way you can post photographs here is by uploading them to something like photobucket, and then copying and pasting the link or URL using the menu above.

    Cheers,

    Steve

By the way, if I'm not mistaken there are only a few active members left here, so not much going on. The Forum has been in decline since the support dropped off for holding an annual show, and things just went downhill from there. Then the funds to support the hosting of the website dwindled to the point where we could not post any photographs, it all became too much of a pfaff.

Sad that B.I.D.K.A got into this state but Mike OS tried everything and it all got too much. So don't be surprised if you don't get much response on here.

If you are on Facebook try Discus Sales and Show Off UK as a group to join.

    Best of luck,

    Steve
