    looking good :)

can't tell from the pics if it's got s cover or not but you will deffo need one, discus do have a tendency to jump now and then when spooked.

    It's open topped / braceless.

I've two under 5's so what's the chance of the fish being spooked!!!!

Thanks Pat. That's where I got to later last night. Lighter / safer and by all accounts better light transmission

nice one i find my leds clearer through the thin perspex than glass, and feel a whole lot safer when every now and again one of the fish has a mad dart for freedom and trys to jump out.

Nice set up. Are you running two filters, and are they home made spray bars for the filter return?

Yep. Good spot. Twin Eheim 2217's

The standard spray bars are only 30cm (ish) long so I ordered a 1m length of Eheim Rigid tubing which was £3 cut it in half and drilled 2mm holes at 20mm centres.

I'm running inline c02 injection so full width spraybars will help with the carpet planting

There are Columbian Red fin and Emporer Tetra ready to welcome the Stendkers.

I added 15 Large Amano shrimp last week that absolutely demolished any sign of algae. Incredible beasts

So it's been an interesting 24 hours.....

Night before my fish delivery I didn't feel very good at all, maybe it was the excitement of finally receiving my fish, maybe it was the massive jacket potato.....unfortunately it turns out its appendicitis!

So when the fish arrived at home I was at the doctors, referred immediately to the hospital, diagnosed and admitted. Mrs GDM had the pleasure of welcoming the fish into there new home. Despite my acrylic cover two of the little blighters made a bid for freedom first day but all are back in and seem to be chilling out nicely.

So all in all I've got some lovely photos of the gang but doubt I'll actually get to see them for a few days.

I have saved the prime spot on corner sofa at home where I shall be recovering/watching the tank!
